Hello, and welcome to my website.

I am a journalist, author and broadcaster, working mainly in political journalism and sport.

So where might you know me from?

Sport

I am the editor of Snooker Scene magazine, which has been the game’s leading journal since 1971, providing results, analysis, and in-depth reports, along with a strong campaigning element.

I began working for the magazine in June 2011, and my work has appeared in every issue since.

Following the retirement of Clive Everton in December 2022, I became the editor, where I oversaw a modernisation of the magazine’s style and content, while remaining loyal to its core purposes of being a journal of record and campaigning for good governance of the game at all levels.

I also appear as a snooker pundit on a number of media outlets in the UK and beyond, and I have worked as a commentator for online streaming services.

Politics

 

I am a freelance political commentator for a number of outlets including popular website Spiked, Talk TV, Radio Sputnik, RT UK and I’m a regular contributor to British satirical magazine Private Eye.

 

I am the owner of Talk Podcasts, a platform bringing you original, innovative speech-based podcasts on a wide range of subjects, from sport, to politics, to meditation!

During my early career, I wrote biographies on leading jockey Frankie Dettori, former Ireland and Lions rugby captain Brian O’Driscoll, and former England cricket captain Kevin Pietersen.

I also broadcast regularly, and have presented numerous features on snooker, darts and American Football for TV, as well has having worked as a snooker commentator.

My other work includes consumer journalism, features on property management and obituary writing.
